Sterling Heights - Patrick Henry Roth, age 70 of Sterling Heights, Michigan passed away on May 8, 2018 at Crittenton Hospital, Rochester Hills, Michigan. He was born on July 24, 1947 in Detroit, Michigan to Henry and Julia Roth. Beloved Husband of Margaret Roth. Loving Father of Kaitlin (Jeff) Hummel and Andrew Roth. Loving Grandfather of Caden and Lucas Hummel. Patrick is survived by his sister, Debbie (Ken) Steiger and pre-deceased by his brother, Mike Roth and is survived by his sister-in-law, Linda Roth. Also survived by nephews and nieces. Patrick retired from the City of Madison Heights after 25 years of service as a Fireman. He is a proud veteran of the Vietnam War where he served in the Marine Corp. Visitation will be held on Monday, May 14th from 3:00 pm to 9:00 pm (Rosary Service at 7:00 pm) at Hopcroft Funeral Home, 31145 John R. Road, (1 block North of 13 Mile Road, West side of John R. Road), Madison Heights, Michigan. The Funeral will be held on Tuesday, May 15th beginning at 10:30 am Instate followed by an 11:00 am Mass at St. Mary Magdalen Church, Hazel Park, Michigan. Burial will take place at Great Lakes National Cemetery, Holly, Michigan on Tuesday at 1:30 pm.

Served with Pat in Vietnam. He upheld the values of being a Marine with excellence. A sad day for me to hear this of his passing. I feel like I have lost a brother

Im so sorry hear about Pat. My name is Ryan Fairfield and the nephew of LCPL Dennis Fairfield who he served with Pat in Vietnam. My uncle was killed there yhe day after Pat was wounded May 18, 1967. I interviewed Pat a few years ago for the amateur documentary that I made about my Uncle Dennis. Pat would call me from time totime and I cherished talking with him. When I had the honor to interview him at the Memphis Fox company reunion in 2013 he was such a gracious guy. I thoroughly enjoyed getting to know him and hearing stories about his service in Vietnam and my Uncle Dennis. He would call me every May 18, the anniversary when he was wounded to touch base with me since the next day was the anniversary of my uncle getting killed. Pat was a top-notch guy and I will miss his friendship. My heartfelt condolences to the family of Pat
