Lori Mesenbrink Obituary
October 14, 1957 - January 1, 2025
Lori Ann Mesenbrink, 67, of Fremont, passed away on January 1, 2025. The world became a better place on October 14, 1957, when Lori was born to Jim and Delores Mesenbrink. Lori graduated from Fremont High School in 1975 and the University of Nebraska in 1979.
Lori was always a hard worker and began her career as a social worker with Child Protective Services. She also worked at Tier One in Lincoln and most recently at Valmont Industries.
Lori will be remembered for her kind heart, beautiful smile, and giving spirit. She had a place in her heart for anyone in need. Lori adored her pets and gave them wonderful homes. Each one was special to Lori and she has many pictures to prove it! Lori also valued her many friends and always made time to meet with them or stay connected in some way. Many have commented on Lori's love of sticky notes. She was a detailed note taker and we can find Lori's little notes and reminders everywhere.
Lori was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband, William Gernstein, sister Cheryl (Bob) Reynoldson, and brother, Mike Mesenbrink. Lori is also survived by her nieces and nephews: Jill (Mark), Amy (Zach), Erin (Colin), Matt, Katie (Tanner), Ashley (Bret), and Colin. Lori has nine great-nieces and nephews. She also leaves behind Oscar, her beloved dog, and special friends, Kim Wood and Cindy Gates Chamness.
Funeral Service: 11:30 a.m., Wednesday, January 8, 2025, Moser Memorial Chapel, 2170 North Somers, Fremont, Neb. Visitation will be from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m., that day.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to FurEver Home (for Lori's love of animals), 925 W. 6th St., Fremont, Neb., 68025 or donor's choice.

What a beautiful person Lori was, She always made sure I was taken care of at work and we always had the best talks. She was more than just a co-worker she was a friend. I will miss her Dearly!! RIP my Friend
