Alice Aguilar Obituary

Alice Flores Aguilar
December 6, 1940 - April 16, 2022
Fresno, California - Alice Flores Aguilar was born December 6, 1940 to Nicolas and Aurelia Flores in El Palmito, Durango, Mexico.
Alice lived her formative years in Visalia, attending George McCann Catholic School and Redwood High School. She married in 1959, a union which produced two sons, George W. Aguilar and David C. Aguilar. After a divorce and eight years ago, Alice rekindled a friendship with Raymond Sartini. They shared many adventures together, including travel to Italy. They enjoyed sharing meals at their favorite restaurants as well as Alice's tremendous homecooked meals. Alice was a student of art and dance. In addition, she was an avid runner, running 3-5 miles daily. Alice loved decorating her home and working in her yard, thereby creating a loving environment for herself and family. Alice is truly missed.
Alice is preceded in death by her father, Nicolas Flores and mother, Aurelia Flores; siblings, Humberto Flores I, Guillermo Flores I, Gilberto Flores, Delia Vaca and Olivia Flores.
Alice is survived by her sons, George and David and daughter-in-law, Stephanie Aguilar; siblings, Joe Flores, Abel Flores, William Flores, Humberto Flores II; and numerous nephews and nieces.
Special thanks to niece, Sylvia Vaca Montion as her emotional and physical presence during the pendency of Alice's illness was invaluable.
A funeral mass will be held on Friday, May 6, 2022 at 11:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Victory Church. A reception will follow at the Church Social Hall located at Shields and Princeton Ave., Fresno, CA.

I met Alice in 1973 when my husband John and I moved from LA to Fresno. She rescued me when I purchased several trees with no way of getting them home as I was driving a VW. We became fast friends. Loved her warmth and happy spirit. I moved to Danville and sadly lost touch.

I knew Alice back in 1974 when she rescued me at the local nursery. I had purchased several trees and had no way of getting them home. She offered to take them for me in her truck. We became fast friends. I loved her lots. We lost touch after I moved to Danville.

Wow there are so many childhood memories ...and recent experiences our family has shared with our dear Alice that have literally helped shaped my life. She would come to all my children's birthday parties and bring such thoughtful gifts . From clothes that actually fit the children to homemade potted plants that were just so beautiful.
As I was growing up I looked up to Alice and would often as a child just walk down the street and visit.
She was ALWAYS there for my mom and the two of them were besties and that kind of friendship
lasts forever.
I love you so much Alice and I will never forget you

Alice has been my Mother-in-Love for 37 years, and I already miss her so much. Since losing my own Mom 18 years ago, she has been my only Mom all those years. How blessed I have been to have such a wonderful 2nd Mom! I can't even begin to share all the memories. She means so much to me. But I believe with all my heart that she is in the arms of Jesus and I will be with her again someday, eternally. What great hope we have in Jesus!
