BUD JONES Obituary

Bud Alan Jones passed into the arms of our Lord and Savior, while surrounded by family. Bud was born to Howard and Verna Jones on March 20, 1948, in Fresno, CA. He graduated from Roosevelt High School in 1966, and obtained a degree in Mathematics from Fresno State College. He honorably served his country in the United States Navy aboard the USS Hancock during the Vietnam War. Bud was an auditor for the State Board of Equalization for over 35 years. With his wife Mardeen, they created a home filled with love and built on a spiritual foundation. His six grandchildren, Addison, Reese, Nash, and Sydney, the children of his son, Kevin; daughter-inlaw, Kim Jones; and Lila and Harper, the children of his daughter Heather and son-in-law, Sam Dalesandro; affectionately called him "Papa." He loved to cheer them on, support them, and encourage their passions. He was patient and always took extra time to teach them new things. Bud loved to take the "scenic route," often stopping at historical markers along the way, much to his children's dismay. Bud loved spending time with his friends, and created lasting memories with trips to Seattle, WA, Victoria B.C., Lake Tahoe, Florida, Washington D.C., London, Paris, and Italy. Dad was deeply dedicated to his community, volunteering and serving on the boards of the United Way and the State Center Credit Union. He was a master gardener and enjoyed volunteering at local public gardens. He also dedicated time to Pilgrim Armenian Church, where he and Mardeen were married and raised their children. Bud loved life, and fought hard to live. The family is grateful to Dr. Haseeb of cCare for his kindness and hope that he gave Bud. Bud remarked that he always felt better after seeing Dr. Haseeb. He is reunited with his parents; and brothers, Paul and Michael. Bud is survived by his wife; children; grandchildren; and his remaining six brothers and sisters, Peggy Risbeck, Bob Jones, Jim Jones, Veta Hall, Floanne Hunter, Coy Jones, and their families. A Celebration of Life will be held at Pilgrim Armenian Congregational Church, 3673 N. First Street, Fresno, CA, on Saturday, July 29, 2017, at 2:00 p.m., which would have been Bud and Mardeen's 45th wedding anniversary in the church where they were married. A reception will follow. A private interment will be held at the Fowler Cemetery. Rememberances may be made to Pilgrim Armenian Congregational Church; the Prostate Cancer Foundation, 1250 Fourth Street, Santa Monica, CA, 90401; or a charity of the donor's choice.

Mardeen and family, I have such good memories of time spent with Mardeen and Bud during their engagement period and when Heather was born. I remember how much Bud loved Mardeen, and how much she loved him. It was a pleasure being in your wedding and attending the 25th Wedding Anniversary. I pray you feel God's presence during this hard time. He will not let you down. All our love, Garry and Carol Rogers

We are thinking about you in our hearts and remembering you in our prayers. We have many good memories of Bud through Kevin & Ryan's wrestling days at CW. He was kind & engaging, supportive, & loyal to his family and friends.

Uncle Buddy is truly missed by all of us but he leaves us with some wonderful memories. I remember him zipping around in his tiny sports car (Triumph?) and also working in the yard while singing "Ticket to Ride." Grandma once said of Bud's driving, "he was poking along at 60" (mph). Dancing at your wedding, dancing at your 25th anniversary party,so proud of Kevin's and Heather's families and accomplishments, not to mention the adorable grand kids! But best of all, he leaves a very kind and caring wife and children, those precious grand babies, and a strong spiritual legacy that is worth more than gold. Because of Jesus, we will see each other again. We love you.

My family and I are so thankful that Bud was a part of our lives for so many years. We have wonderful memories of our family excursions to Shaver, Santa Cruz & Pismo and mutual anniversary celebrations. We will miss you Bud, but we also know that you were welcomed into Heaven with open arms.

Aunt Marsden, Heather and Kevin:
I am so sorry for your loss of Uncle Bud. I have so many fond memories of my uncle. He is truly one of a kind. Cousin Jill said it right when she called him " Uncle Wonderful". He's in heaven now. No more earthly pain, just filled with the love that Jesus provides. Your in my prayers. I love you all. God Bless You. Love, Deborah Jones Robles.

We are all heartbroken at the loss of Uncle Wonderful. A world without Bud is a far less shiny place. Know that we're still praying for all of you, Mardeen, Heather, Kevin and families. The photo you posted in the Bee is perfect as that is what I believe he now looks like in Heaven and it's how I always think of him. I look forward to our joyful reunion one day..all of us together, laughing, praising God. Love to all.

Mardeen and family. Bud was a special friend. I know you will miss him terribly. I know I do. From Pam and me it is like losing a brother and to our children, Jenna, Melissa and Matt, it is like losing a second father. Bud will always be a part of our prayers, as will you and your family. Jim
