Hickory, North Carolina - Charles Marvin Aanonson, Jr., 81, born October 24, 1939 in St. Paul, Minnesota, son of Charles Marvin Aanonson and Lorraine Lucille Aanonson, passed February 1, 2021 in his home in Hickory, NC. Charles is survived by his wife of 27 years, Rachel Ormeo Aanonson with two sons, Kyle Aanonson and Kurt Aanonson, and two daughters June Aanonson-Annas, and Novie Jane Aanonson.
He is also survived by his first wife, Audrey M. Aanonson with two sons, Bruce Aanonson and Mark Aanonson (deceased), and two daughters Sandra Aanonson and Cheryl Aanonson-Silva; grandchildren Mark A. Aanonson, Audrey L. Aanonson, Paige Stanfill, Chloe Stanfill, and Dylan Silva; great grandchildren Delilah Aanonson and Luke Aanonson.
Charles served in the U.S. Army and was a graduate of Fresno State with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. As the founder of the Aanonson Sprinkler Co. in Madera, CA, Charles helped many farmers throughout the San Joaquin Valley in the '70's, '80s and 90's by providing innovative irrigation design and parts.
"Chuck" made an impact on many people in his 81 years sharing his love for knowledge and demand for always doing your best. The legacy he left behind can be seen in all those who were blessed to have known and learned from him.
Services will be held on Sunday, February 7, 2021 at the Jenkin Funeral Home in Newton, NC.
