David Peters Obituary

David Edward Peters

September 22, 1941 - April 9, 2024

Kingsburg, California - David passed away on April 9, 2024 in Fresno, California at the California Armenian Home with his entire family by his side.

David was an avid farmer, teacher and motorcycle enthusiast during his lifetime.

Born in Fowler, California to Karnig and Barbara Peters, he worked early on with his parents, brothers Kenneth and Darrell and sister Patricia on the family farm. He carried the love of farming throughout his life, becoming a farmer himself.

After college, he became a high school agriculture teacher, where he instructed many generations of students and also developed friendships with his students and their families; many who remain active in agriculture to this day. He was especially fond of the teams he coached in viticulture.

After retiring from teaching, he remained active in his own farming operation, which is still operating to this day.

His love of family was evident in everything he did as he always put family first.

He is survived by his wife Roselle Peters of 55 years, along with three children and their spouses, Deirdre (daughter) and Eric Poole, Michael (son) and Leslie Peters, and Bryan (son) and Leticia Peters. Grandchildren Matthew, Adrianna, Nikolaus, Hayden, Carter, Natalie, Brett, Mikayla, Ashley, Brian, Brielle and Chloe.

David is also survived by his sister Patricia Shein, as well as many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

We are all saddened by his passing, but for those who knew and loved him, we are thankful for all the years he gave to us, and excited for his last ride.

In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the California Armenian Home (6720 E. Kings Canyon Rd. Fresno, CA 93727) or Kingsburg Cancer Volunteers Inc. (P.O. Box 26, Kingsburg, CA 93631-0026)

David was so special to me. He had such a kind and gentle soul. We met at Fresno Madera Farm Credit and quickly became friends. He was so thoughtful and kind and would bring me Sunkist chocolate covered raisins any time he stopped by. We kept in touch after I retired and would bump into each other occasionally because he and my husband shared a doctor. I will remember that deep distinctive voice and his kindness forever. May he rest in eternal peace.

Mr. Peters was my ag teacher at Kingsburg High School. He was my favorite teacher at school. I took a lot of ag classes and Mr Peters was always so kind and would listen to our questions. He was very patience with all of us knuckleheads. He helped cultivate a deeper love of ag and horticulture in my fellow students and me. I enjoyed working the ag farms greenhouse with him and the many project we cultivated each year. My condolences to the family in this time of lose. David was well loved by all.

From day one of meeting Mr. Peters, he always had a way to light up the room. He made sure to say hello and stop to chat with his friends. He gave the biggest hugs and always made sure that he left you with a smile. Mr. Peters is and will always be a special part of Community. I'm going to miss his voice and how he greeted me. I can still hear his voice. I'm Blessed to say I'm his friend and I will miss you and you will always be remember.

David was truly one of the nicest people I´ve ever met.
Even tho he rode another brand, we met at the BMW Motorcycle shop I worked at and he would drop in from time to time to say hello and to bring us delicious raisins.
