Fresno, California - Denise Renee Devecchio, born on November 11, 1955 to Gino and Geraldine Devecchio, joined the Lord on December 15, 2022, surrounded by her family. She grew up on the Devecchio Farm in Fresno and forever cherished those memories. In her early years Denise studied ballet and volunteered as a Candy Striper. She graduated from San Joaquin Memorial High School in 1973 and Fresno State University in 1977 with a degree in liberal studies. Denise's teaching career spanned 35 years as an Elementary School Teacher for the Catholic Diocese of Fresno. During the course of her career, she taught over 1,000 children at Saint Joachim and Saint Helen's Schools. Denise loved vacationing with family in many places across the country, especially Santa Cruz and New York City.
Denise was preceded in death by her sister Clarice. She is survived by her Godson and nephew Nathan Cavagnaro, cherished niece Olivia Cavagnaro, sister Elise and brother-in-law Andrew Cavagnaro. She also leaves behind many dear friends at Holy Spirit Catholic Church.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 355 E. Champlain Dr., Fresno, CA 93730, on Wednesday, December 28, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. A Burial will follow the Mass at St. Peter's Cemetery, 264 N. Blythe Ave., Fresno, CA 93706.
