Henrietta Devecchio Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Earle Funeral Home - Blackwood on Feb. 7, 2025.
Henrietta Devecchio (nee Wayne), longtime resident of Blackwood, NJ, passed away February 6, 2025, at the age of 95.
Originally from Runnemede, Henrietta's story truly began after meeting her late husband, John "Shorty" Devecchio, whom she married in 1950. They cherished their love for each other for an impressive 71 years until John's passing in 2021. Their union was a testament to enduring love and mutual respect, a foundation upon which they built their family.
She is survived by her loving sons, Drew Devecchio (Denise) and Scott Devecchio (Jennifer). Henrietta was a source of constant love and encouragement for her grandchildren, David Devecchio (Ceili), Krystal Devecchio, Denyal Przeworski (Stephen), Robyn Henderson (Dean), and Scott Devecchio, Jr. Her great-grandchildren, Briella Devecchio, Jacob Devecchio, Mia Devecchio, Braelynn Przeworski, and Makenna Przeworski, will carry the light of her legacy into the future.
Henrietta's professional life was marked by her role as an executive secretary at Campbell's Soup Co., where she was respected for her efficiency and professionalism. Later, she channeled her entrepreneurial spirit into a successful twenty-year career with Avon, becoming an award-winning salesperson admired for her charm and dedication.
Animals held a special place in Henrietta's heart, especially horses, which reflected her own free spirit and strength. Her younger years were filled with the joy of competition and camaraderie as she participated in a bowling league with her beloved John. These shared interests wove the fabric of their lives together, creating countless cherished memories.
In her final years, Henrietta resided at Cardinal Village in Washington Township, where she was adored by everyone she encountered. Her presence was a gift to the community, and she found comfort and joy in the companionship of Winston, her nurse's comfort dog. Henrietta's ability to touch the hearts of those around her never waned, and her kindness radiated through the halls of her last home.
Visitation will be Wednesday, February 12, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Earle Funeral Home, 122 W. Church Street, Blackwood, NJ 08012, where her service will begin at 11:00 AM. Interment with her late husband will immediately follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park, Washington Township, NJ. Condolences may be shared at www.earlefuneralhome.com
