Eloise Ann Golden was born on May 31, 1957, at the Naval Hospital in Great Lakes, IL. She was 57 years old when she passed away on Saturday, May 2, 2015.
She spent her younger years traveling around the world with her parents, Carl and Theresa Montoya; and siblings, Mary, Donald, Rita and John. Her experiences with different cultures helped shape the beautiful, incredible and worldly woman she was.
As a young girl, Eloise started her pursuit of spreading happiness and peace. She joined the Girl Scouts as a teenager and helped with Girl Scouts her entire life. She organized events and traveled the world to different locations where she would meet with girls from over 50 different countries, promoting empowerment of girls and women everywhere. When she was young, she began to grace the world with her voice. When she was a teenager she took the liberty to pick up the guitar and start singing. She started singing with her angelic voice in churches as a teenager and continued her passion all of her life singing for Mass and for friends and family whenever possible.
After completing high school in Buckinghamshire, England, she moved to Colorado. She graduated from Colorado School of Mines with a degree in Metallurgical Engineering. After graduating, Eloise moved to Arizona where she began her career as a Metallurgist. She worked as a Metallurgical Engineer for 19 years, living in Alaska, Arizona, and Nevada. She was an expert in the extraction of copper and gold from ore.
Eventually, she made a career change and became a successful restaurant owner of the The Chuckhole Café in Grand Lake, CO.
She moved to Fresno, CA, in 2006, where she married Patrick Golden. Eloise learned and became the manager for his medical practice.
Eloise had a lust for life and loved reaching out, encouraging people to feel the same way. She loved photography, gardening, reading, learning, outdoor life, playing guitar, and singing.
She spent her time working as a manager for the office, or performing community services for those organizations she loved most including Girl Scouts, Fresno Women's Network, and St. Agnes Mission Church in Pinedale.
She will always be remembered for her loving spirit, tenacity, and happy go lucky attitude.
She is survived by her children, Michael Nelson, Christopher Nelson, Jonathan Nelson, Tanya Nelson, Elliott Golden, and Ariel Golden; and her husband, Patrick Golden MD. She is also survived by her father, Carl Montoya; and siblings, Mary Nelson, Donald Montoya, and John Montoya.
A Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be held at Saint Anthony of Padua Catholic Church on Tuesday, May 12, 2015, at 7:00 p.m.
A Memorial Mass will be held at Saint Anthony of Padua Catholic Church on Wednesday, May 13, 2015, at 11:00 a.m. Remembrances may be sent to St. Agnes Mission Church in Pinedale, CA. Whitehurst, Sullivan, Burns and Blair Funeral Home, 1525 East Saginaw Way, Fresno, California (559)227-4048

Dear Ones
It is only now, almost a year, that we have learned of the passing of your sweet Eloise. So often the bustle of our everyday life overshadows the cares and woes of those we hold in such high esteem. Our hearts reach out to the friends and loved ones of the Golden family and our heartfelt condolences on the greatest of all losses.
May God hold you tenderly in his loving hand and give you peace in knowing that Eloise is in His presence.
Her Angel's voice sings now in a heavenly choir just beyond our hearing but audible still in our fond memories of her. Her presence on this earth was a brief but beautiful gift and we, none of us, having been touched by her kindness will ever forget her.

To Dr. Golden and Family,
I am so very sorry to hear of your tragic loss. I had the privilege of meeting Eloise in India last year. She was a very beautiful woman both inside and out and always had a smile for everyone. Eloise and I kept in touch and in the brief time I knew her, I know that she was a very special person, very loving and giving of her time, energy and her soul.
Eloise will always hold a special place in the heart of anyone who ever had the privilege of meeting her.
My sincerest condolences and thoughts are with you all at this time.
Deepest Sympathies,
Alana xo

My prayers go out to Eloise's entire family. What a great loss. I met Eloise when we were teenagers at London Central High School. We sang together in a teen choir. We reconnected a few years ago after I lost my dear husband, also much too early. I was delighted to hear she kept singing and carrying the love of Jesus wherever she went. Deepest Condolences from Ireland. Ann Dimond

I knew Eloise through the Fresno Women's Network where we found we shared Girl Scouts and our deep Catholic faith. My prayers and condolences go out to the Golden/Nelson families and all who knew & loved Eloise. We will all meet again one day, meanwhile, she is singing in God's heavenly choir. Pat, we are so sorry to hear about the passing of your dear beautiful wife. Please be sure that Martin and I will have her and you in our prayers. We have never forgotten our trip together to the Holy Land. My best recollection was when she sang to us in the ruins of Capernaum "Mary's Little Boy" . There was not a dry eye in the group. Eloise may you bask in the beauty of our Lord's Heavenly Kingdom, and I'm sure you are in God's angelic choir playing your guitar, and singing with that voice that is so soothing to one's soul. Rest in peace my friend. Pat, may the peace of Our Lord Jesus Christ be with you.
