Richard Norton Obituary

RICHARD NORTON Richard, age 57, passed away peacefully in his home on Wednesday, September 21, 2005, in Orosi, CA. Born on June 20, 1948, in Fresno to Gerald and Dorothy Norton, he was a lifelong resident of Orosi. Richard graduated from Orosi High School, College of the Sequoias and Fresno State College. He was employed by the State of California as an auditor with the Employment Development Department until he retired two years ago. On June 14, 1969, Richard married Lynelle Frazier, his lifelong dancing partner. Richard thoroughly enjoyed his retirement. He loved to dance, play poker, garden in his yard, and care for his animals, and he was always on time for his 5:00 p.m. coffee buddies. He loved Fresno State Football and coaching women's softball. Richard quietly sponsored several valley athletes and musicians. Richard was preceded in death by both his parents and grandparents. He is survived by Lynelle, his wife of 36 years; his brother, Roger Norton and his wife Iris; and his mother and father-in-law, Bert and Frances Frazier. Frances would often comment that Richard was her favorite son-in-law. Family and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Service at Dopkins Funeral Chapel on Tuesday, September 27, 2005, at 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Smith Mountain Cemetery. Remembrances may be made to the Fresno State Football Team or the Fresno State Marching Band Tuba Section, 5241 N. Maple, Fresno, CA 93710. Dopkins Funeral ChapelDinuba (559)591-1919
