ROBERT EDWARDS

Bob was born in Mooswa, Alberta, Canada to Leo and Sudie Edwards. He passed away peacefully after a 5 year bout with congestive heart failure. He served in the Army and Air Force from 1946-1949, honorably discharged as a Staff Sgt. He was married to his loving wife Beverly for 48 yrs., until her passing in December 1999. He worked for the Fresno City Fire Deptartment from 1957-1977, retiring as a Captain. He also co-owned a bicycle shop, Mayfair Cycle Center, which he started with Bev, from 1970-1994. Bob enjoyed square dancing, camping, RVing, boating, tending to his garden, but most of all he enjoyed being with his beloved family and friends. While square dancing, he met his second wife Cheryl. They were married for 12 years up until his death. Surviving are his sister, "Bunny" Pease; his wife, Cheryl; daughter, Barbara Recchio and her husband Don; grandsons, Ryan and Scott Recchio; and great granddaughter Addison. He also leaves behind three step children, Ray, Jenni and Jason Diefenderfer; and four step grandchildren, Ava, Chase, Grant and Ben. A Memorial Service will be held at Clovis Cemetery District, on Thursday, August 1, 2013, at 10:30 a.m. Remembrances may be sent in Bob's name to California-Hawaii Elks Major Project, 5450 E.
