Thomas Jackson Obituary

Thomas "Tom" Gerald Jackson

December 3, 1946 - March 3, 2025

Willis, Texas - Thomas "Tom" Gerald Jackson passed peacefully in the early morning of March 3, 2025 in Houston, Texas.

Born on December 3, 1946 to Lloyd S Jackson Jr and Gwendolyn Duncan Jackson, he was preceded in death by his father, beloved stepmother, Marjorie Crews Jackson, and sister Peggy Davis Gnaster.

Tom grew up in Fresno, California, and after graduating from Bullard High School in 1965 he joined the US Navy. After his service he married the love of his life, Myrna Smith Jackson, and together they owned and operated Crown Printing and FRS Marking Devices in Fresno until their retirement in 2005.

Tom fostered close and continuing friendships with many employees and business associates, childhood and high school friends and neighbors over the years. He always loved fishing with his special fishing buddies.

In retirement, he enjoyed traveling and sharing many adventures with his wife and family. Always enjoying life to the fullest, Tom loved exploring new locations or simply sharing an evening with friends with a glass of wine in hand, often overlooking a lake or sunlit coast.

Tom is survived by his wife, Myrna and children, Brooke and Shaun Jackson, daughter in law, Sarah Newton Jackson, brother Bob Jackson, sister Kathy Martinez, and five grandchildren, Serena, Kael, Zoey, Eva and Emma, along with numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life will be held in Fresno, California at a future date.

Any remembrance can be sent as a donation to MD Anderson Cancer Center, PO Box 4486, Houston TX 77210 or MDAnderson.org/Gifts.

Myrna, just heard today about Tom. Lisa was in Ca for a memorial service for her Mom. She went to Belmont Memorial to see the plaque for Ron and saw the plaque for Tom. I am sure this is a difficult time for you. I am thinking of you and pray God will provide comfort.

Dear Myrna
I am so sorry to miss the celebration of life for Tom. We too have 5 grandchildren and two of them needed me that day. You are in my prayers I know how painful this is honey and it is ok to cry. Dickie my Rich always shared how he introduced you too and he said it with a smile on his face. God Bless you Myrna and your family Kathleen Christensen

I have very fond memories of working for Tom. He taught me a lot about sales, marketing, business, and life in general. He looked past my rookie mistakes as a kid fresh out of college. He recognized that I could be a key contributor and gave me the opportunity to excel. I truly appreciate all of it.

I had the honor of meeting Tom and Myrna for the 1st time on my trip to Cabo. Just by talking to them for the 1st time, I felt so comfortable with them. So friendly, I felt like I knew them before even meeting them from my Sister-in-Law Kathy. My prayers are with his family. Nita

What can I say about a great friend and mentor over the last 30+ years. My brother from another mother. Dee and I enjoyed so many great memories and travels together. Especially over a glass of wine of or an Old Fashion together at each others home, Cabo, our lake house or through our business association. He had a great humor, lovely wife and family. I had many more adventures that I was looking forward too. He is gone but not forgotten and we will meet again to share the memories and wine.
Death creates heartache no one can heal....Love creates memories no one steal!! RIP my friend. Loved you and Peace be with your family

I had the pleasure to go on at least 10 -13 Alaska trips together with Tom, plus can´t say enough about our fun excursion to the San Juan´s with Captain Tom . Each time I see the cool wooden airplane model he gave me as a reminder of our floatplane rides , it puts a smile on my face as I think of him! Tom, thanks for being a good friend ( from your "tonage king"), and prayers are with you and your family Myrna .

Tom truly did enjoy life to the fullest, whether it was work, play, socializing, travel, or on a quest for the next adventure. He knew how to make the best of it all with his wit and personality.

He was a good man, a true patriot, and a loving friend. My sincerest condolences to you, Myrna, and your family. Rest in peace, dear Tom.
