Elton Dale Belcher

Sherry Sue (Thomas) Belcher
September 24,1942 to April 7, 2025
Dale Belcher of Fresno, CA passed away on December 21, 2020. Dale was born on October 25, 1944 in Fresno, CA to the late Elton Belcher and Frances Belcher. Dale graduated from Bullard High School in 1962.
Sherry Belcher passed away on April 7, 2025. Sherry was born on September 24,1942 in Kerman, CA to the late Q.B. and Christeen Thomas. She was also preceded in death by her oldest son Brian Gaynor in 2004 and her granddaughter Bailie Belcher French in February of this year. Sherry graduated from Fresno High School in 1960.
Dale and Sherry's family was a yours, mine and ours mixed bunch. Dale had son Greg (Belcher) Grigsby, Sherry had sons Brian and Keith Gaynor and together they shared son Doug Belcher.
Survivors include Brian's two kids, daughter Ashley (Louie), and her children Noah and Callie; son Brian, Jr. (Jordan) and his children Caleb and CeCe; son Keith Gaynor and his son Kaven; son Doug Belcher (Laura Christine Crombie) and his daughter Brianna; son Greg (Belcher) Grigsby (Lana) and their children; Sherry's sister Brenda Davis and brother Dennis Thomas; Dale's brother Larry Belcher and his family; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Dale worked for many years at Densmore Engines, a family-owned business. He also started his own business, Belchers Auto Machine Shop, and then worked at Rutter Armey until his retirement. Some of his retirement years were spent taking care of Sherry doing the cooking, shopping and various household chores. Dale was reserved and quiet while Sherry was the more outgoing and social one.
Sherry worked in several fields including retail and banking, but her passion was making jewelry. She closed out her career at Bella Bead but prior to that she was the Office Manager for many years at Mervyn's at both the Fresno and Clovis locations. In her younger days she also worked part time at Kearney Bowl. Sherry was friendly, outgoing and knew how to have fun. In her later years she developed an auto immune disease which limited some of her activities.
The entire family followed sports. Football, baseball, NASCAR, etc. Sherry said she was outnumbered with all the males under her roof. Following sports on tv was not enough. Their sons raced bicycles (BMX) and motocross. They spent a lot of weekends on the road traveling to races.
The family will be having a Celebration of Life for both Dale and Sherry. For more details call Brenda: 559 297-4502 (Landline) or 559 269-5022 (Cell).
