Philip Pfannebecker Obituary

Philip T. Pfannebecker, 67, passed away Sept. 27 in his home near Fort Lupton, surrounded by his family. Phil was born in Herkimer, N.Y. Aug. 25, 1949. He and his family lived in Dryden, N.Y. until they relocated to Dover, Del. in 1962. He attended Caesar Rodney High School in Delaware and graduated in 1967. He followed his love of the outdoors and moved to Colorado to attend Colorado State University. He loved the beauty of Colorado and spent the rest of his life there.
In his free time, Phil enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, and riding ATVs. As his parents did in WWII, Phil joined the Navy during the Vietnam War, where he served as a corpsman at Norfolk Naval Hospital. He worked for Caterpillar Inc. for a dedicated 33 years and was also the union rep there for many years. He helped form a 4-H club where he taught his sons and other young people about raising and showing animals, woodworking and shooting sports.
Phil loved tools and had a passion for building things. He was an avid woodworker who also enjoyed remodeling and carpentry.
Phil and his wife, Debbie, were married in 2011. The couple enjoyed working together in their yard, playing with their three golden retrievers and spending time with their children and grandchildren. Phil will be dearly missed.
His parents, Philip Pfannebecker and Gladys (Shaver) Pfannebecker. and infant sister, Debbie, predeceased him. Survivors include his wife, of Fort Lupton; sister, Jean (Thomas) Moore, of Felton, Del.; sons, Dean (Dawn) Stotler, of Dover, Philip J. (Sarah) Pfannebecker of LaSalle, and Ryan (Megan) Pfannebecker of Brighton; stepchildren Nicole (Matthew) Contreras, of Keenesburg, and Nathan (Mandy) Windholz, of Brighton; six grandchildren; and seven step-grandchildren. Private services for Mr. Pfannebecker will be at a later date.
