Christopher Pritchett Obituary

Christopher Burke Pritchett
Jacksonville - Pritchett, Christopher Burke, age 51, of Jacksonville, AL, passed away on December 17, 2020 due to pancreatic neuro encodrine carcinoma. He fought a long, hard battle for over six years after having originally been given just a few months to live. Chris cherished his "bonus time" (as he called it), and truly lived the remainder of his time on this earth to the fullest. His disease did not define him.
Chris lived the majority of his life in Venice, California working for Xerox Corporation in sales. He was a member of their prestigious President's Club nearly every year that he worked for them. When Chris became ill, he came back home to Gadsden and began working in the family business. It was during this time that his disease was diagnosed.
Chris was a member of the Episcopal Church of the Holy Comforter, Gadsden, AL, the class of Southside High school 1988, and earned a degree from The University of Alabama at Birmingham.
Chris never met a stranger. His endearing personality, generosity, and character made a lasting impact on those around him. If you met Chris, you were lucky to know him. He loved and cherished his friends, and they loved him in return. Chris loved to travel, experience new cities and cultures, and share his life with his closest companions.
Chris was preceded in death by both sets of grandparents and his beloved sister, Jennifer Lea Pritchett. He is survived by his parents, Doug Pritchett and John and Sharon Hyde. His brother, Jeff (Sharon) Pritchett. His step brothers and sisters. Jacquelyn Keener, Jay Hyde, Josh Hyde and Janet Kyle James, nieces and nephews, Ally Pritchett, SarahBeth and Jessica Hyde, Chase, Krae, Jehle, Belle, Graem, Kyhla Keener, Conner Rose Hyde and Phoenix and Nick James.
There will be a private service at The Episcopal Church of the Holy Comforter on Jan 3, 2021 in the garden, Father Carl Saxton will be in charge of the service.
In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to the Episcopal Church of the Holy Comforter in Gadsden or Etowah County Cancer Foundation Inc.

Sad to hear this. I’m sure the last time I saw Chris was at high school graduation. I remember him always smiling and seeming happy all the time. Was a great guy in high school. My condolences to his family I know he will be greatly missed.

I am very sorry to hear about Chris. I believe I have pictures of us somewhere in storage playing soccer in elementary school together. I am pretty sure it was for the Rowdies. He could start up a conversation with anyone and it usually ended with a laugh. California, I can see that-- he could fit in with anyone back then. Salesman, yep, his gift came in handy.
