Hey dad, today has been really hard. Tomorrow is decoration day at Fairview so I spent the first part of the day (on the hill) as I say and decorated your grave. I can't believe that on the 14th of this month you will have been gone for a year. I miss you so much and think about you every day. I would give anything just to be able to look at you and talk with you again. I love you daddy and one day we will see each other again but until then I hope you can still feel all of our love for you.

Hey dad, I can't believe that you've been gone six months today. Sometimes it seems live forever. I still catch myself riding by your place wishing I could see you sitting on the porch with your leg up on the railing smiling and waving as I pulled in. You wouldn't believe how many times it crosses my mind to pick up the phone and call you. Tomorrow will be my first birthday without you so say a prayer for me in heaven. I miss you more than you could ever know and I hope you are happy and safe in the arms of God.

Tomorrow is the 4th of July and Randy and I have been getting ready for everyone to come over. I have missed you terribly today and have been remembering how we loved this holiday and cooking out together and then taking a ride in the boat. Tomorrow will be hard without you! Maybe you will get to see a great fireworks show in heaven. I LOVE YOU DAD

Dad, it has been one month since you've been gone. It seems like a lifetime since I have been able to see you or talk with you. I miss you terribly everyday. I know that I will see you again one day. I can just picture you on a beautiful golf course with the breeze blowing and you making a hole in one Ha ha. Love Forever Stacy

Olan was a very special friend to us. we will miss him dearly. we had many meals together, card games and even vacations. He showed much respect to Marshall and me. one memory that I treasure is the time he ask me about how to know that he was saved. I shared with him that salvation was between him and God. I told him that in Romans 10,it says God sends his word and That I had been blessed to have a sent man of God, and I had heard the word in truth, and I gave him a prayer cloth that came from the shepherd of my church, and told him to keep it and pray every day. Every time I would go and Marshall and I would clean house for him, I would see that prayer hankerchief on his dresser. I'm thankful that I had the opportunity to share this with him. We do not know the hearts of men, but I do know that God is a just God and judges righteously, and I find comfort in that. Eloise and Marshall

I was so sorry to hear about Olan. I didn't find out until Sunday night or all of you know I would have been there. There will never be another one like him. I remember the good ole days when we would think we were getting away with something and Daddy Olan would catch us, what seemed like everytime. I don't think he really knew just how much I loved him. He always made me feel welcome and treated me just like one of his own kids.
I love you all

Olan was a BLESSING to our family. We have many fond memories. He was so good to my children always spending time playing cards and joking around with them. If you needed a bike, he had one:) It was tradition to go the Top 'O the River every visit:) And one year a very, very long bike trail excursion. We will miss him and always remember him. ~ Andrea Mansur

Like my sister said , Olan was a second grandfather . He always came to visit us when we came up to Alabama . He let us borrow his bikes when we went camping and he would take my mom and me to the gym . He was always there for Christmas and let us come swimming whenever we wanted . I'm really gonna miss him and papa fighting over who's gonna pay for dinner :) He was an amazing man and our family is going to miss him dearly .

Olan was like another grandfather to me. I will cherish the all the memories, like playing phase 10 and acting mad when he skipped me :) Always going to his pool and having so much fun jumping off the diving board. He was always so nice to me and my sister. Never missed a christmas, and was always there to greet us as soon as we got to Alabama. I'm a better person for knowing him and i will really miss him.
