Paul Holderfield Obituary

Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Etowah Memorial Chapel for Paul J. Holderfield, 87, Boaz, who died Thursday, Nov. 20, 2008. The Rev. Wayne Roden will officiate. Burial will be in Lathamville Cemetery, Crossville. Etowah Memorial Chapel directing.

Mr. Holderfield worked many years as a cabinet maker and carpenter in Chattanooga. He moved to Alabama in 1979 and retired from Belks. Then he did plumbing and carpenter work for rental houses and friends. He was of the Baptist faith, but loved going to Blessing Church of Christ. He also was an avid fisherman until a stroke slowed him down and left him blind.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Minnie Holderfield; brother, Judd Holderfield; sisters, Julia Henderson and Mae Couey; and son, Perry Allen Holderfield.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Bobbie Terrell Holderfield; brother, Ralph Holderfield; daughters, Thelma (Norman) Chamblee, Pauline (Jimmy) Boggs and Suzie (Ron) Holmes; sons, Anthony (Heather) Holderfield and Steve (Deborah) Holderfield; daughter-in-law, Ann (Wesley) Tanaka; stepchildren, Susan (James) Griffitt and Jay (Lisa) Terrell; sister-in-law, Wanda Mann; brothers-in-law, Michael Mann and Eddie Bradford; grandchildren, David, Norma Sue, Pam, Sharon, Kayci, Stephanie, Jessica, Michael, Darren, Allyson, Brandon and Cameron; several great-grandchildren; and friends and neighbors.

Pallbearers will be family and friends.

Honorary pallbearers are Dr. Akisanya, Dr. Oguntuyo, Dr. Feist, Dr. Narayan, Dr. Urbina, Dr. Walker, Dr. Echeverri, staff of Riverview Regional Medical Center and staff of Rick's Pharmacy.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 this evening.
