Robert L. "Bob" Dellinger

Robert L. "Bob" Dellinger, 70, of Fort Payne, passed away Saturday, Aug. 16, 2014, at Trinity Medical Center.
Bob was a class of 1962 Fort Payne High School alumnus and a Jacksonville State University graduate. He spent 43 years of his professional life as Purchasing Director for Nucor/Vulcraft. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert L. Dellinger Sr. and Etta Biddle Dellinger.
Bob is survived by the love of his life, Rebecca, to whom he was married for 41 wonderful years; brother, Ray Dellinger (Doris); sisters, Kathy Knight and Judy Evenson (John); son, Bobby; sisters-in-law, Karen McClendon and Jennifer Castiglione (Bob); and an assortment of very loved nieces, nephews, close friends and family.
Bob is remembered by those who knew him as giving, kind, hilarious, a prankster, professional, fun, Fisherman Extraordinaire, servant, courageous, and loving with a heart of gold.
Visitation and services will be held at Wilson Funeral Home in Fort Payne, Ala. Viewing is from 5 to 7 this evening. Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 20, with Dr. Pat McFadden officiating.
Flowers will be received, or donations may be made to Fort Payne First Baptist Church, 106 Grand Avenue North West, Fort Payne, AL 35967.
Serving as pallbearers will be: Jerry Adrian, Jack Kendric, Rocky Watson, Terry Parker, Frank Stewart and David Hammonds. Honorary pallbearers will be Mike James, Rex Miller, Terry Locklear, Dr. Jimmie Harvey, the Class of '62, and co-workers of Vulcraft/Nucor.
