Barbara Johnson Obituary
Mayo, SC - Dr. Barbara Hammett Johnson, 67, of 171 Lakewood Lane, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, February 26, 2022 at her residence.
Born in Gaffney, she was the daughter of the late Keith E. Hammett and Ophelia Blanton Hammett. She was a retired Chiropractor, volunteered for Hospice and loved her family. Dr. Johnson was a member of Mayo First Baptist, where she volunteered with the food pantry.
Surviving is a son, Brian Wallace (Stacy) of Chesnee; a daughter, Kim Henderson (Chad) of Mayo; a brother, Dean Hammett (Nancy) of Gaffney; a sister, Amanda Jones (Chris) of Georgia; seven grandchildren, Bryson Wallace, Jace Wallace, Dakota Wallace, Cason Wallace, Ricky Henderson, Noah Henderson and Hannah Henderson. Dr. Johnson was preceded in death by a sister, Margaret H. Wise.
The family will receive friends from 12:00PM until 1:00PM on Monday, February 28, 2022 at Blakely Funeral Home. Funeral services will immediately follow at 1:00PM in the Blakely Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Harold Bradley officiating. Interment will be in the Cherokee Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: Mayo First Baptist Church, "Youth Fund", 190 Mayo Road, Mayo, SC, 29368 or Interim Hospice, 16 Hyland Road, Greenville, SC, 29615 or a charity of one's choice.
The family will be at the residence.
