Diana Johnson Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by E M Coots' Sons Inc Funeral Home on Feb. 15, 2026.
Diana Mae Johnson, 74, passed away on Saturday, February 14, 2026, at Norton Clark Hospital. Born on July 26, 1951, in Louisville, KY, Diana was a woman of strong faith and even stronger character. She dedicated many years of hard work as a Materials Handler at Philip Morris before her retirement.

Diana was known for her vibrant energy and her "straight to the point" personality. She was a Christian woman who lived life actively, whether she was participating in Jazzercise, bowling, or playing softball. A passionate follower of politics and a devoted Trump supporter, Diana was never afraid to stand by her convictions. She was also a loyal fan of University of Louisville sports, cheering on the Cards through every season.

Her sense of adventure was unique; she always dreamed of going on a Bigfoot hunt, firmly believing that he was "out there somewhere." Above all, Diana cherished her family. Her favorite tradition was taking her grandchildren shopping before each school year, creating memories they will carry forever.

It is perhaps fitting that Diana passed away on Valentine's Day, as she is finally reunited with her beloved husband, James "Jim" Anders, whom she had missed dearly since his passing.

Diana is survived by her grandchildren: Jayla Sumner of Louisville, KY; Amanda Robbins (Logan) of Jeffersonville, IN; Andrew Johnson (Alivea) of Taylor Mill, KY; and Faith Hall of Lexington, KY. She also leaves behind two great-grandchildren, Karisma and Klarisa Foster; her nephew, Danny Schunk; and her dear friends, Debbie Meredith and Bobbie Hollis. Her beloved dog, Ollie, whom she and Jim loved so much, will continue to be well-cared for in her absence.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jim; her daughter, Leslie Sumner; her son, Scott Johnson; her sister, Sally Christine Schunk; her brother, James Russell Stewart; and her many faithful canine companions throughout the years.

A Funeral service will be held on Friday, February 20th, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at E.M. Coots' Sons Funeral with burial to follow at Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday, from 11:00 a.m. until the service at the Funeral Home.
