Blacksburg, SC - Donald "Don" Miller Alexander, 89, of Blacksburg, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, August 21, 2025 at Cherokee Medical Center.
Born in Smyrna, he was the husband of Margie Jolly Alexander for 65 plus years and son of the late Robert Mack Alexander and Jessie Quinn Alexander. He was a graduate of Blacksburg High School, retired from Timken, a U. S. Army veteran, and a member of Canaan Methodist Church in Smyrna. He loved his family and cooking, and was famous for his deep-fried chicken. He was an avid fisherman and NASCAR fan, especially Dale Earnhardt.
Surviving in addition to his wife is a son, Terry Alexander (Tammy) of Prosper, TX; a daughter, Donna Davis (Ricky) of Blacksburg; a son-in-law, Eddie Hughey of Gaffney; two sisters, his twin Dot Falls of Blacksburg and Peggy Faulkner of Goose Creek; two brothers-in-law, Larry Jolly (Margaret) of Landrum and Jack Jolly (Cindy) of Gaffney; five grandchildren, Lance Alexander, Heather Hughey, Lauren Alexander, Cody Alexander (fiancé Molly Smith) and Bryson Davis; a great-grandson, Jerrett Alexander; numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Teresa Alexander Hughey, five brothers and three sisters.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM on Saturday, August 23, 2025 at Blakely Funeral Home. Funeral services will immediately follow at 2:00 PM in the Blakely Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Wayne Brown officiating. Interment, with military rites, will be in Frederick Memorial Gardens.
