George Lee Smith, Sr., 73, of 142 Buckson Street, Gaffney, passed away on Monday, August 11th, in Cherokee Medical Center.
Husband of Theresa Rodgers Smith, he was born in Gaffney, and was a son of the late George Smith and the late Rachel Petty Smith.
George was a graduate of Gaffney High School. He was a former employee of D&D Trucking Company, Inman, SC.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a brother, Oscar Smith, and a sister, Lenette Hush.
He leaves to cherish loving memories: his wife, Theresa, of the home; two sons, Oliver Pierre Smith, and George Lee Smith, II, of Gaffney; three daughters, Georgia R. Smith, Rachel Smith-Roseboro (Michael), and Sarah Smith Littlejohn (Anthony), all of Gaffney; brothers, Charles Poole, Joe Poole (Lucy), and Teddy Smith, all of Lexington, NC; sisters, Lettie Faye Williams, Julia Littlejohn, Mary Hines, Minnie Smith, and Joyce Smith, all of Lexington, NC; eleven grandchildren; five great grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
A Funeral Service will be held Saturday, August 16, 11:00 a.m., in The Gilmore Mortuary Chapel with Brother James Goldring and Brother
