Gaffney, SC - Norma Jeane Ledford Snead, 77, formerly of 204 Lakeshore Drive, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, February 12, 2025 at Viva Assisted Living in Gaffney.
Born in Gaffney February 27, 1947, she was the wife of the late Gary Lamar Snead and daughter of the late John B. Ledford,
Sr. and Mildred Nelms Ledford. She was a 1965 graduate of Blacksburg High School and attended Limestone College and Spartanburg Technical College. She worked as a medical records clerk and coder at Cherokee County Memorial Hospital, and retired as a secretary and receptionist at Hamrick's Corporate Office. She was a member of Central Baptist Church, where she was formerly a Senior Ladies Sunday School teacher. She had also served as a church pianist at Mt. Whitaker Baptist Church and for many years as a preschool teacher at Temple Baptist Church. From childhood, Jeane was a devoted follower of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, her first love. She enjoyed homemaking, needlework, crafts, and playing piano and organ, and participating in living history reenactments with the S. C. Palmetto Battalion alongside her husband. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her church family. She loved her husband, her family and friends. A kind and gentle spirit, she will be greatly missed.
Jeane is survived by her sister, Sylvia L. Phillips (Jerry), nephew, George K. Flores, niece, Melanie F. Cole (Brice), great nephews, Nick Flores and Zach Flores, and great nieces, Elizabeth Flores and Alyssa Cole. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, John B.
