Gaffney, SC - John Roger Chambers, 62, of 123 Clary Drive, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, August 14, 2025 at his residence.
Born in Seneca, SC, he was the son of the late John H. Chambers and Frances Batchler Chambers. He was a retired truck driver and a member of Fairview Baptist Church. He loved his family and was an avid Clemson Tiger and NASCAR fan, especially Dale Earnhardt.
Surviving are two daughters, Alicia Chambers and Skylar Chambers, both of Gaffney; two brothers, Terry Chambers (Tammy) and Ronnie Batchler (Debbie), both of Gaffney; four sisters, Cindy Zebresney, Brenda Kay Pennington (Danny "Bo") both of Gaffney, Maxine Sullens and Cathy Jarrod, both of Georgia; three grandchildren, Caidon Edwards, Zoey Pearson and Rilee Pearson; numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, William Arnold Batchler and two sisters, Jane Morris and Susan Petty.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM on Tuesday, August 19, 2025 at Blakely Funeral Home.
Funeral services will immediately follow at 2:00 PM in the Blakely Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Harold Johnson officiating. Interment will be in the Fairview Baptist Church Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to: Fairview Baptist Church, 505 Fairview Road, Gaffney, SC 29341.
The family will be at their respective homes.
