Gaffney, SC - William J. Yesberg, 81, of 114 Smoke Ridge Road, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, February 4, 2022, at 10:10 pm at the Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home.
To his friends, he was known as Bill and he was born in Crystal City, Missouri, on March 27, 1940. Bill was the husband of the late Priscilla Mullinax Yesberg and son of the late William Clarence Yesberg and Marie Escoffier Yesberg.
Bill Yesberg was a proud United States Navy Veteran and a member of The Broad River Marine Corps Leathernecks in Cherokee County.
Bill was the former plant manager of The Union Butterfield Plant and co/owner with his best friend and brother Aric Porter of ABS Company.
Mr. Yesberg was a member of The First Baptist Church of Gaffney where his church family and Sunday School Class prayed him through four years of sickness which left him bedridden.
Surviving is his only son and caretaker to the end Marty Yesberg of the home; a living sister, Jane Yesberg of Crystal City, MO; and he was preceded in death by his late sister Karen Barnett.
The past four years of Bill's life was a true miracle from God as he defied all the Doctor's expectation and not only lived but was able to walk for a very short time by the grace of God. Bill Yesberg never gave up.
Bill Yesberg had a support team and they stood by him till the very end. It cannot go without saying each one of the care team treated Bill as a part of their own family.
Thank you, Todd Humphries, the Veteran's Administration Officer made everything come together and without him, so many Veteran's Benefits would have never been applied for and it was the Veteran's Administration that made sure Bill Yesberg never went without the care he needed.
Thank you to the Veterans Medical Care Team who kept him alive and healthy for the past four years. Dr. Ajay Garg, MD (VA Doctor), Janette Miller – Nurse Practitioner, Danielle Goshorn – Primary RN, Ashley Castelvecchi – Pharmacist, Amanda Johnson Latham – Social Worker, Callie Wolf – Dietician, and Jack Mixon – Kinesio Therapist. Bill Yesberg had a care team that was always there to take care of him and his level of care ranked up there with the care the President receives. Bill Yesberg lived the last four years of his life thanks to his medical care team that was furnished by the Veterans Administration and no word of thanks can ever be enough for what they did during Bill Yesberg's life.
Pearl Gaffney was his aid and became a part of the Yesberg family as she became his closest friend and was always ready to take care of him no matter what he needed day or night. Pearl was my father's personal Angel on earth and will always be a member of our family.
Special thank you to Lynda Ramage, Josie Cobb Eckley, Terry Crawford, and Gayle White who prepared home-cooked meals and made sure my father was always fed. Thanks to these ladies who loved him so much he never went hungry and he truly loved and appreciated each one of you.
Ashby and Debbie Blakely thank you for your love and support for being there for Marty in his time of need as an only child he is truly lost right now but Blakely Funeral Home is helping every step of the way to get through his grief.
On Friday, February 4, Pastor Tommy Huddleston would be the last pastor to visit and pray with him. Pastor Huddleston asks Bill if he was ready to see Heaven and in a very weak voice, he said I sure am. Together Pastor Huddleston and Bill along with his son Marty prayed that Bill would go to sleep and God would relieve him from his pain and suffering so Bill would see Heaven and that night while Bill Yesberg was asleep God answered all of our prayers.
To all the friends of Bill Yesberg don't cry in sadness but rejoice for he is now reunited in Heaven with his wife Priscilla and he is now free from all sickness and pain. We must all remember God does answer our Prayers.
Please Never Stop Praying For Each Other !!!
