COLETTA HUDSON Obituary

HUDSON, COLETTA ANN
Coletta Ann Hudson, 61, passed away on September 22, 2018 at the Haven Hospice E. T. York Care Center in Gainesville, FL. Coletta lost a hard-fought battle with a very aggressive, metastasizing cancer. She was born in Kokomo, Indiana on May 10, 1957 to Robert Eugene Hudson and Gretchen Frances Galvin. Coletta was raised and lived mostly in FL and resided in Gainesville for over 30 years where she ran a successful business for the past 20 years.
Coletta was an intelligent, hardworking, passionate and compassionate, person. Her first career was as a Veterinary Technician and she served in the Army Reserves. From there she worked in Veterinary Pharmaceutical Sales and finally ended up as owner/operator of Coletta's Microscopes which gave her great satisfaction, working in the trade that she dearly loved. Too generous for her own good, she was always willing to help wherever help was needed, even if that meant putting her life and plans on hold to help others in need.
She was preceded in death by her father, Robert Hudson.
She is survived by her mother, Gretchen Galvin; her daughter, Erin Dowd; grandson, Robert Dowd; and her soul mate, Gary Borbotko, Sr. She is also survived by her siblings, Kathy Hudson, Chris Hudson, Chuck Hudson; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Coletta did not want a funeral service or burial, she wanted instead to be cremated and to have her ashes scattered in various locations that she had always loved. In lieu of flowers, please donate to Haven Hospice of Gainesville, FL or to cancer research.

I was one of Coletta's clients. I will miss her greatly. I have worked with her for at least 15 years. She was very smart and I enjoyed talking when she came to the Panhandle. I am sorry for your loss.

Her last visit to a white sand gulf beach and our last work trip together. So much love.

She was much more than an Aunt to me. I miss her everyday and dream about her often. Today has been extra hard. Nine years ago we were working at NASA together maintaining microscopes. That contract was her pride and joy. Wish I could have kept it up for her but Im a full time mom now. I miss our quiet lab work together and our loud nerdy nature adventures. rest in peace sweet soul sister.... you are one of a kind. XOXO
