Corey Thomas Obituary
Gainesville - Corey Maurice Thomas died April 7, 2008 at Shands at UF. He was a landscaper with Oasis Landscaping Co. He is survived by 2 children, Shantitra Hill and Cortavius Thomas, both of St. Petersburg, FL; his mother, Z. Laura Hayes, Jasper, FL; step father, John Hayes, Tampa, FL; 4 sisters, Shannon Thomas-Coleman (Ronnie), Gainesville, FL, Candice Davis, Shaina Hayes, both of Jasper, FL, and Paris Carey, Gainesville, FL; 2 brothers, Previn D. Wright and Ivan Russell, both of Gainesville, FL; 2 step brothers, Maurice Hayes of Pennsylvania and Desmond Hayes, Jacksonville, FL; 2 step sisters, Verrice Hayes of Pennsylvania and Katrina Walker-Smith of Lake City, FL; 2 grandmothers, Hettie F. Ross of Hawthorne, FL and Lucille Thomas of Johnson, FL; devoted companion, Carolyn Grant of Gainesville, FL; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral Service for Mr. Thomas will be Saturday, April 12, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. at New Hope United Methodist Church, Hawthorne, FL with Elder Marcus Pinkney officiating. Burial will be in Gilgal Cemetery, McMeekin, FL. Viewing hours on Friday at Pinkney-Smith Funeral Home , 727 NW 2 St. Gainesville, FL from 1-5 p.m. Viewing hours on Friday at Pinkney-Smith Funeral Home, 21400 SE Hawthorne Rd. Hawthorne, FL from 6-8 p.m. The cortege will form at Shannon and Ronnie Coleman's home, 2102 NE 15 Terr. Gainesville, FL 12 p.m. Saturday.
