ERIC NATHAN, 43
Eric Nathan Singletary, 43, Gainesville, Florida passed away Sunday, October 27th at North Florida Regional Hospital.
Eric was born January 10, 1970, Gainesville, Florida. He graduated from PK Yonge School and Santa Fe College. Eric had a passion for music and was a singer in numerous local bands. He loved working outdoors, the Gators, his dog Chance, golfing and spending time with friends and family. To know Eric was to love Eric.
He is survived by his mother, Patricia Singletary, sister, Teresa (Jeff) Boston, brothers, Burton (Gale) Singletary, and Darrell (Karen) Singletary. He is preceded in death by his father Jimmy Singletary.
A memorial to Eric will be held at his sister's home, 1733 NW 39th Drive, Gainesville, FL on Saturday, November 2nd from 1:00 to 3:00 PM.

It's been nearly a year now since you left us and the loss of you is still so hard to accept. I often times see people who remind me so much of you and then it's a sad reminder that you're gone. My heart goes out to Eric's family. My son Christopher Moon died early in life and was a graduate of PKY also. Eric was there for my family espically my oldest son Sohn when Chris passed away. You will be missed Eric.

Eric was the coolest guy in highschool. Everyone liked him. The band he was in was the coolest and I will never forget the good times he provided us all. The weekend concerts they put on at the warehouse in high school were legendary. He was a rock star.I was lucky to have know him.The band could play any song as good as the original and had cool original songs too.The world is a poorer place without him. You were so proud to say you were from Cairo, GA. I loved all the times you and your mom and dad came to see Irven and I. Just had to remember that you hated tomatoes, but loved chili dogs from the pool room. I never have been able to cook as good as your mom. We will always remember when we went to see you play (Teresa, Jeff, Darrell, Karen, Richard, Irven & I) at one of the local bars. We had a blast. You were so proud to see your family there. We will miss your precious smile and loving heart. You left us too soon, but we pray that you are at peace now. Love you.

I have known Eric for at least half my life if not more. I can't remember a time when I saw him without that beautiful smile plastered on his face. He could light up a room with his personality. I met Eric when we were 18. I lived with him a couple of different times, once with him at his mother's house. I have lots of memories with him and miss him very much. A good friend that would do anything for anyone. Everywhere we went someone knew him. His voice was amazing. He was my friend and as sad as I am to not have him , I am joyful he is in God's hands now where there is peace and happiness. ..Honor to know him..

I've known Eric from the yrs at Ft Clarke, high school at PK, summers at Camp Crystal and he was always a shining star. His smile and laugh are burned into my memories. I too enjoyed seeing him at the 20 yr reunion. Eric was a friend and I miss him. Toasting my buddy, so many memories.

My memories of Eric were always of signing and laughing. From the PK days and on he kept everyone alive with his signing. It is sad to hear of another of our friends passing, but know that he's going to welcome us all when our time comes.

When I picture Eric I always picture him smiling. Mister Mischief! Every time I ran into him, whether it had been a few days, a month, or a year, he always had a big smile and a hug for me. To my childhood best friend. You are a bright spirit that always made me laugh and smile. We had so many good times, in some very formative years of our lives and much of who we are is because of each other. All the music and Rocking Out, countless days at Westend, essentially living in each others homes, etc. all cherished memories. I know our lives have taken us down different roads and we lost touch, but when we would see each other, you always had the same bright sprit that brightened the days of those around you and you made me smile laugh. I first met Eric at Hogan's when his band was playing. He reminded me of Pauly Shore. A crew of us liked to play darts there and Eddie C's. Good times. Rest peacefully sweetie. You gave me some good memories.

I met Eric in 1990, I think it was. Over a number of years, Eric was a fixture in our house. He supported my family through marriage, the birth of our son, and years later a divorce. Wee supported him during his struggles with relationships aMongst other things. My son was raised knowing him as "Uncle Eric." He teased me as a brother would. He lived with us for a short period of time. I was always the second mom he'd call to be his taxi when he was stuck somewhere. You can't help but love him. His laugh, smiles, and hugs were freely given. His voice was a gift, a true talent, and he shared his blessing with many. He will truly be missed. May he be in peace. I loved you, even though we weren't in contact these last few years.

Eric I can't believe you are no longer with us and that i will never hear you sing again. I have a lot of fond memories of times you were playing at Eddie c's, The Library, Nappy's but my fondest memories are the most recent ones when we would stand outside of Publix and talk.
