PERRY JACOBSON Obituary
Gainesville - Perry N. Jacobson, 88, died Sunday, November 10, 2013. He was born to the late Abe and Freda Tennenbaum Jacobson in 1925 in Cleveland, Ohio. Perry received his BS, MS, and MBA degrees from Harvard University. During WWII, he was a physicist for the U.S. Army working on radar for a new jet and anti-aircraft simulator.
Perry was married to Betty Kaminsky for 60 years. They lived in Waban and Dover, Massachusetts, before retiring to Savannah and then Gainesville.
Perry was President of Capital Footwear. He served on the board of the 210 Associates, a philanthropic organization of the shoe industry. He was an active volunteer for SCORE, Service Corps of Retired Executives, and treasurer for CASA, Court Appointed Special Advocates for children.
Perry enjoyed bridge, golf, and wood-working. His piano recitals were enjoyed by family and friends every year.
Perry is survived by his wife Betty, three children and their spouses, Michael and Trine of Palo Alto, Andrew and Peggy of Petaluma, Susan and Jeff of Gainesville, and grandson, Matthew of San Francisco.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to your favorite charity.

Betty,
Donna and I were saddened to hear of Perry's passing last Sunday. I remember playing bridge against you and Perry, especially on Tuesday afternoons. I missed seeing him when he was unable to continue to play competitive bridge.
Reading the Gainesville Sun obituary, I was surprised to discover that Perry was born in Cleveland, Ohio. Donna and I were born in separate small communities near Oberlin, Ohio, about 40 miles west of Cleveland. Like Perry, I am a graduate of Harvard.
Our thoughts are with you at this difficult time.
