STEVEN FIELDS Obituary
Steven Glen Fields, 63, resident of Gainesville, Florida, died Wednesday, May 13, 2020 in the Shands Hospital, Gainesville, following a long illness.
Mr. Fields was born in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida on December 21, 1956. He lived in Ft. Lauderdale for many years, prior to coming to Gainesville in the early 90's. Steven worked as a security guard for Shands Hospital for almost 25 years prior to his retirement earlier this year. He had attended Northwest Baptist Church and loved photography, particularly around car shows.
He will be laid to rest alongside his father, who preceded him in death, Mr. William Whitley Fields.
He is survived by his mother, Rama Fields; sisters, Ramona Fields and Sissy Johnson; brothers, Billy Fields and Mike Fields, along with three nephews and a niece.

I'm so extremely saddened to know Steven is no longer on this Earth!! :( Please know that I'm holding those who loved him dearly close in my thoughts, and hope that you know you are surrounded by love!! I worked with Steve for 22 years at University Police Department years ago our titles were Police Service Technicians. I would see him after working the midnight shift, and I would just be coming in to work. We would talk for a few minutes. I recall seeing him in Walmart year ago buying film for his camera because was going to take pictures. I changed positions and went to another department but I would still see Steve sometimes riding his bike to work. am saddened to hear of his passing. I offer my condolences and prayers to his family

We'll miss you Steven. I'm happy to have had the last 15+ years to get to know you. You were so important to your family and it was nice that you welcomed me and made me feel comfortable being around the house as your brother-in-law. Rest in quiet peace...
