STEVEN WEST Obituary

WEST, STEVEN L.

Steven Lee, 54, of Louisville passed away suddenly on Thursday, September 22, 2011 at Norton Brownsboro Hospital.

He was born on February 16, 1957 in Clinton, IL to the late Dale E. West and Thelma Jane Shaffer West and was an Air Force Veteran having served our country for over 22 years and at the time of his retirement was MSGT.

He was the Store Manager for CVS Region Store #5866 in Middletown and former assistant manager for the Highlands and 4th Street stores. He also attended 1st Christian Church.

He is preceded in death by his sister, Sharon Shaffer and brother, Ron West.

He is survived by his loving wife of 32 years, Leisa Altstadt West; two children, Hannah Leigh and Colton Lee West; two sisters, Kathie Wickenhauser (Gene) of Clinton, IL and Mary Jane West of Bloomington, IL and his mother-in-law, Donna Altstadt.

A memorial service to celebrate Steve's life was held at 1 p.m. on Monday, September 26, 2011 at Pearson-Ratterman Bros. Funeral Home, 12900 Shelbyville Road, Middletown. Visitation will be from 11 am until service time.

It was Steve's wishes that in lieu of flowers, memorial gifts be made in the form of contributions to the National Military Family Association, 2500 North Van Dorn Street, Suite 102, Alexandria, VA 22302-1601 or visit www.militaryfamily.org to make an online donation.

I worked with Steve for a couple of years at Lowes, he was my supervisor. There are things that he said to me that I still use today. To hear that he has passed (crushes me). I am so sorry for your lost Mrs. West.

Knowing and working with Steve was a pleasure. Great guy and devoted husband and father, I will greatly miss him. To leisa, he loved you so much and I enjoyed knowing you both. In God's hands he has risen into the Kingdom of Heaven. LOVE YOU DEBBIE HOWARD
