James Bramlett Obituary

James Norman Bramlett was born in Montgomery, Alabama on December 28, 1948. He died peacefully on June 24, 2025 at the age of 76 after courageously and cheerfully battling the challenges presented by Alzheimer's for over 8 years. Norman spent his childhood years growing up in Gainesville, Georgia where he graduated from Gainesville High School. He graduated from Southern Technical Institute and began his career with Western Electric where he worked for over a decade. He then changed careers where he was an outside salesman in the data telecom industry. Based mostly in Atlanta; he did live 6 years in California where he covered the West Coast, including Alaska. Returning to the state of Georgia that he loved; he met and married Janice H. Nash on September 3,1994. They were married for over 30 years enjoying hiking, motorcycle riding, gardening, photography, cheering for the University of Georgia Bulldogs-Go Dawgs !- spending time at the beach and attending Alpharetta Presbyterian Church. Norman played ALTA Doubles Tennis and volunteered for many years at the Atlanta Symphony and Chastain Concerts. He was very kind hearted and friendly, greeting strangers and friends with a welcoming smile. He loved God, this Country, family and friends, his dogs named Munson and Dooley and his 2 African Grey Parrots. He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Gladys Bramlett. He is survived by his wife, Janice Bramlett, and his 2 daughters, Lisa Valerie Bramlett of Virginia Beach, Va. and Emily Bramlett Pura (Rainier) of Warrenton, Va. and 5 grandchildren Daisia Payne, Rielan Pura, Lillien Pura, Chloe Robinson and Roman Pura. He is survived by 2 brothers- Russ Scritchfield of Watkinsville, Georgia and Chuck Bramlett of Flowery Branch, Georgia and his brother-in-law Rick Fields of Albany, Georgia. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews and grand nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Life Service is scheduled for Saturday, July 12, 2025 at 11:00am at Alpharetta Presbyterian Church, 180 Academy Street, Alpharetta, Georgia, 30009. A private family Internment Service will be held in the Church's Memorial Garden. In lieu of flowers, friends may make a donation to their favorite charity.
