John and I were in the 10th grade together at Gastonia High School. He sat behind me and poked me playfully for a school year. He was kind and always had a smile for all. In later years his friends and mine Paul and Wilma Rhyne would pass a hello to him from me. I am proud to have known him so many years ago and he always carried a special place in my heart.
