There are very few people whom I have known in this life who truly had no enemies, had no detractors and who you will never find anyone to say a negative word about. Roger was one of those very special and very few human beings. The time I knew Roger was much too short, but I am grateful for every time I saw and spoke with him. His enthusiasm for life in the face of more obstacles than any of us will probably ever endure was an inspiration and joy for me to share.

Sometimes I think God says, "I need someone to share and rejoice with, who understands the meaning of the joy of life...this precious gift that people have and don't always understand." I feel that Roger understood the gift of life and lived it and showed it to others every day! I know that one of the great joys in life for Roger was the time he spent with his family and I truly believe he would tell all of you to remember the great times you shared with him. There are no words that can lessen the pain everyone is feeling, but remembering the constant cheerfulness (even though he may have sometimes forced it) should help us all to get through this. I believe Roger would have wished that we all rejoice in the life he lived, the strength he displayed, the well being of his family and friends, the taking good care of the animals he loved, with no regrets or sorrow.

We all know that not feeling sadness is impossible, but I bet that Roger would have wished that we did not. I wish the very best to all of his family and friends and hope that you can rejoice in the time you had to enjoy Roger's company. I know he is looking down now and saying, c'mon you guys! I am OK as always....

Roger, we wish you the best on your next journey, and we envy the angels that get to enjoy your company....
