Henry Bader Obituary
Born in Holyoke, son of the late Henry and Esther (Leboeuf) Bader, he was a 1963 graduate of Holyoke High School. He lived most of his life in Holyoke, moving to South Hadley in 1986.
Henry received his bachelor of arts degree in business administration from Husson College in Bangor, Maine, and worked as a hospital manager for Holyoke Hospital and Cape Cod Hospital. After his retirement, he worked part-time at Home Depot.
He was a navy veteran of the Vietnam War and enjoyed fishing, woodworking, the Red Sox and the Patriots.
His wife Emily B. (Brewster) Bader died in 2009. He leaves a son and his wife Nicholas H. and Catherine Bader and a daughter Susanna B. Goddu all of South Hadley; a sister Patricia Tarr of Holyoke; three grandchildren, Quinn Goddu, Maxwell Bader and Evelyn Bader; and a nephew and his wife Brian and Kelly Sullivan of Holyoke.
The funeral will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Curran-O'Brien Funeral Home, 33 Lamb St., South Hadley. The burial will be private. Calling hours are Saturday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Friends of the Springfield Library, 220 State St., Springfield, MA 01103.
