Clayton Toedtemeier Obituary

May 15, 1951 - Aug. 12, 2016

Clay was born to Norman and Tilly Toedtemeier in Lebanon on May 15, 1951, and went home to be with the Lord on Aug. 12, 2016, after a long seven-year battle with liver disease.

Clay attended school in Monroe; after graduation he went on to Lane community college where he was privileged to pitch for the baseball team. He then played semipro baseball for the summer team.

Clay worked a few short years for States Veneer, a plywood mill. He pursued a 28-year career in insurance sales including his own agency. He enjoyed fishing, golfing, boating, camping and cars.

He met his wife Rochelle Jensen in Albany and they were married June 6, 1978. They lived the first 10 years of their marriage in Eugene before moving to Beaverton in 1987.

He was preceded in death by a baby sister, De Etta Rose; mother Tilly; and father Norman.

He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Rochelle; daughter Stacy; son Travis and wife Ali; sister Cora and husband Allen; half-brother Clyde and wife Jeri; half-brother Claude; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life will be at 3 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 21, 2016, at Newberg Christian Church.
