Max Wilbur Obituary

Max Wilbur passed away peacefully on August 14, 2025 surrounded by his family at the age of 96.

He was a devoted husband, loving dad, proud grandpa, and loyal friend whose kindness, humor, and mischievous smile made life brighter for everyone around him.

Max had an adventurous spirit, leading him to serve his country with honor in the U.S. Air Force, a role that filled him with pride. Later, his true joy came from the simple things–teeing off on the golf course each morning, tackling a good puzzle, and traveling around the globe. No place captured his heart quite like Hawaii. The view from his lanai in Kona became his favorite escape for sunshine, palm trees, and ocean breezes that always left him smiling.

More than anything, Max loved his family. He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Sue; son, Michael; daughter, Marcie (Tim); three granddaughters and four great grandchildren.

Although our hearts are heavy, we find comfort that he is now reunited with his son, David.

We'll be celebrating his life on September 12th at 1 p.m. at the Keizer Event Center. We invite you to wear your favorite Hawaiian attire and join us to share stories, laughs, and love in his honor.
