JENNY RICH DODGE CITY - Jenny Rich, 53, a one-of-a-kind soul born on September 25, 1971, left us, Friday, November 29, 2024 far too soon but with countless memories to cherish. She is proceeded in death by her mother, Sharon Drake Rich. Jenny is survived by; her devoted parents, Mike and Tammy Rich; her loving children, Tony (Amanda) and Hannah Rich; and her cherished grandchildren, Oakley, Tessa, Oliver, and Navy Rich, who lovingly called her "Grandma Jenny" She also leaves behind two brothers, Charles Day (Carrie) of Manhattan, Kansas, and Micheal Day (Steffani) of Aurora, Colorado, along with five nieces; Morgan, Payton, Lauren, Brinna, and Aria Day. For 23 years, Jenny worked at Iron Insurance, where her sharp wit and unmistakable humor undoubtedly made her a colleague to remember. She had a passion for old-school music, evidenced by her car overflowing with CDsa rare sight these days. Sundays were sacred, especially BBQ dinners at Tony's house with the family, where she delighted in BBQ of all kinds, but always burnt hotdogs (her favorite, to everyone's confusion). Jenny's personality was as bold as her opinionsshe said what she meant, and you always knew where you stood. Beneath that blunt exterior, though, was a heart of gold. She was deeply kind and fiercely protective, ensuring her family always had what they needed before she ever worried about herself. She leaves behind laughter, love, and memories of her sharp humor, her loyal heart, and a life lived unapologetically on her own terms. Jenny, you'll be deeply missed but forever celebrated by all who had the privilege to know you. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, December 5, 2024 at 11:00 am at Ziegler Funeral Chapel, Dodge City with Fr. Wesley Schawe presiding. There will be no public viewing as cremation has taken place. In lieu of flowers, blast some old-school tunes, burn a hotdog in her honor, and cherish your loved onesjust as Jenny would want.
