Memorial services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, May 25, at Milo Bail Student Center on the University of Nebraska at Omaha Campus.

Andrew was born May 31, 1992. Andrew had an undeniable zest for life. He loved to travel and had many friends all over the world. He had a sly smile and a huge, caring heart with a special place in it for his little sister, Jesslyn. He was an accomplished swimmer at Omaha North High School, graduating in 2010. He most recently attended UNO where he was an active member of Pi Kappa Alpha.
Survived by parents Larry and Stephanie, Omaha, Neb.; sister Jesslyn; grandparents Denny and Linda Graff, Mason City, Iowa, Mark and Jeanette Schroeder, LeMars, Iowa, Millie Breon; great-grandmother Karen Secory; aunts and uncles Mark Graff, Tina Berger, Nicki (Stanley) Woolery, Ryan (Karen) Graff, Kay (Craig) Olson, Dean (Linda) Schroeder, Roger Schroeder, Alyce (Brett) Bell, Rick (Stacey) Schroeder, Vicki Emanuel; loving cousins, family, and friends.

Stephanie,Larry and Jesslyn
As one of Andrews Grandma's, I will miss him more than words can ever describe. I was too ill to attend the services. But my heart was there just the same. Andrew was an exceptional young man and I am so very proud of him. You as parents did an outstanding job with him. He was a challenge I am sure. He challenged everything and everyone. That is what he was about. Pushing everyone to do their best. And he gave his best too. His sense of humor is what I found to be one of his best traits. I will always remember the summers he spent with me. We did have fun. Fishing, playing golf. And just hanging out. I count myself very fortunate to have been a part of his life. Prayers and peace to you all.

Your family and your loss have been very heavy on my mind. You don't know me well, but we sat with you at the PIKE Mom/Prom with Andrew at my right. I so enjoyed visiting with both of you and was immediately struck by Andrew's charm and personality and Stephanie, your quiet sense of humor. As you of course know, I have a son, Adam, and in fact 2 other sons. So I do have a glimmer of an idea of the tremendous sense of loss and grief. But until you experience it, you don't really know. I can offer you my heart felt condolences and the fact that Adam truly felt a great friendship with Andrew in the short time they knew each other. He must have been a remarkable kid raised by a great family. There is not much else I can offer except I wish you healing and and finally a sense of peace. May God Bless you and your family and hold you in His embrace.

I will always remember having Andrew in math class at Fullerton Magnet then later as he would stop in my classroom to "say hi" at Buffett. His smile and fun personality always lit up my day. My thoughts are with your family.

Dear Shroeder Family, Our hearts go out to you. Although my husband and I did not know Andrew, our son did. He is one of the new Pi Kappa Alpha brothers and he has been deeply shocked and saddened by the loss of Andrew. It is so hard to understand how or why things happen and we can't imagine your pain. From all accounts, Andrew was a wonderful young man full of promise and gone too soon. We share your grief and loss and see the sorrow in our son and his friends. Stephanie and Larry,
I sit here and think, " what do I say to such wonderful parents that have lost an equally wonderful child to comfort them?" But when I think about it, all I can do is give you both a hug because the tears are streaming down my face and I am too choked up to speak-even as I write this. I have only known you for about a year now, but within that year, we had so many unforgettable times together. You were always there for anybody, even if it meant taking me home in a good 20 minute drive in 8 inches of snow in your little tiburon after the girltalk concert. You will be missed by many bro. I don't know any of you, not the family or your son. However, I was touched by this young man in ways you don't know about. As a parent, I can't imagine your loss. This year he mowed our lawn without us asking because he knew we were away, but that's because of the kind of person he was. Schroeder family -
I'm proud to have coached Andrew for 2 years on the North swim team. He was as a great athlete and knew how to be part of a team. Last year, the day before the state swim meet, Andrew fell and cut his hand. He decided to swim the next day despite the injury; he competed for his teammates. He was a wonderful young man who lived life to its fullest.
