Carroll A. Nelson
OSAGE - Carroll A. Nelson, 81, of rural Osage, died Sunday, Feb. 7, 2016, at home.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 11, 2016, at Rock Creek Lutheran Church, 3269 Foothill Avenue, Osage, Iowa, with the Rev. Roy Ott officiating. Burial will be in the Rock Creek Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Champion-Bucheit Funeral Home in Osage.
Carroll was born July 28, 1934, in Osage, Iowa, the son of Carl and Clara (Arno) Nelson. He graduated from Osage Community High School in 1952. Carroll served in the U.S. Army. On Aug. 7, 1965, he married Janice Krueger at Rock Creek Lutheran Church. They farmed in the Osage area. Carroll was a lifelong member of Rock Creek Lutheran Church. He loved his family and farming.
Carroll is survived by his wife, Janice Nelson of Osage; his children, Denise (Michael) Gerdts of St. Ansgar, Coral (Douglas) Gerdts of Osage, Bethany (Brian) Marcks of Osage, and Amy (Justin) Ryan of Wellman; grandchildren, Aaron and Erik Gerdts, Garrison, Logan and Colton Gerdts, and Carson, Addison and Haydon Marcks.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
