Donald Julius Kreimeyer
HAMPTON - Donald Julius Kreimeyer, 83, of Hampton, passed away at the Franklin General Hospital on Feb. 7, 2016.
Donald Julius Kreimeyer, son of Fredrick and Mattie (Oelmann) Kreimeyer, was born Jan. 5, 1933, in Dows, Iowa. He attended Dows and Geneva High Schools, graduating from Geneva High School in 1951. He was united in marriage to Lois Speck in Hampton on March 12, 1961. Don and Lois farmed in the Geneva and Dumont area for around forty years. They also enjoyed gardening and square dancing. He served in the army during the Korean War. He was a member of the Church of Christ Church in Hampton.
Don is survived by a son Michael Kreimeyer of Hampton, two sisters Lorene Havig of Red Wing, Minnesota, and Marilyn Erickson of Clear Lake, one brother Larry and his wife Linda of Geneva, granddaughter Michelle Kreimeyer of Hampton, sister-in-laws Hilda Kreimeyer of Bevier, Missouri, Irene Kreimeyer of Dougherty, Arnetta Schofstahl of Des Moines, and Sharon Speck of Iowa Falls, brother-in-law Darrell Speck of Cedar Falls, uncle William Oelmann of Ackley and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Lois (April 19, 2006), two brothers Harold and Wallace, brother-in-laws Keith Havig, Claire Erickson, David and Ron Speck and sister-in-law Jackie Speck.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 12, 2016, at Church of Christ in Hampton, with Pastor Gary Davis officiating.
Visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. Friday prior to the services at the church.
Burial will take place in the Lindenwood Cemetery, rural Geneva.
The Sietsema Vogel Funeral Home of Hampton is handling the arrangements.
