Everett Steele

OSAGE - Everett Steele, age 83, of Osage, died Friday, May 17, 2019, at Faith Lutheran Home in Osage.
Cremation has taken place.
Private family memorial services will be held. In Lieu of flowers, the family ask that memorials are mailed to the family at, 115 Pleasant St., Osage, IA 50461; or the Ronald McDonald House, 1141 Pleasant St., Des Moines, IA 50314.
Everett was born January 3, 1936, in Decorah. He attended school in Decorah and graduated from Decorah High School. He was a member of the Decorah Track Team breaking many track records. He was awarded a full scholarship to Drake University for his track performance. He served his country in the United States Air Force. Everett was united in marriage to his high school sweetheart, DiAnne Lewis, on May 25, 1957. He owned and operated Steele's Super Valu, in Osage from 1973 to 1999. Everett was a member of numerous community organizations and serving as board member on many of them through the years. He enjoyed spending his free time with his family.
Everett is survived by his five children, Dawn (Carl) Leonard of Osage, Deb (Chuck) Castner of Greenfield, Minnesota, Kim (Tim) Blair of Keosauqua, Dan (Sharon) Steele of Cary, Illinois and Marc (Marti) Steele of St. Ansgar; grandchildren, Adam, Eve (Leman), Caitlin (Sean), Lucy, Nathan (Angie), Steven (Kristy), Alesha (Tanner), Tayler, Johann, Jackson, Sam, Maggi, Riley, Rubi and Henry; great-grandchildren, Domonic, Noelle, Deven, Olivia, Ayden, Mason, Simon, Andrew, Shelby, Adelyn, Jace, Kynslee, Charlee, Trenton and Jacob.
He is preceded in death by his wife, DiAnne in 2018.
