Mr. John Wallace McLaughlin, Jr., 62, of Danville, Va., passed away on Saturday, January 28, 2017, at Piney Forest Health and Rehabilitation Center. Born on June 24, 1954, in Pittsylvania County, he was the son of the late John Wallace McLaughlin, Sr., and the late Georgia Williams McLaughlin. In addition to his parents, Mr. McLaughlin was predeceased by his wife, Lavonia Rodgers McLaughlin. Survivors include one daughter, Francina I. Jones (Lavelle), of Pelham, N.C.; two sons, Terrence Henry (Shunta) and Johnathan Hood, both of Danville, Va.; two sisters, Brenda M. Wimbush and Debbie M. Mclvor (William), both of Danville, Va.; two brothers, Ricky L. McLaughlin (Linette) of Danville, Va. and David L. McLaughlin (Rebecca) of Bowie, Md.; six grandchildren, one great-aunt, two aunts, two uncles and many other relatives and friends. Funeral services for Mr. McLaughlin will be held Friday, February 3, 2017, at 12 p.m., at Greater Deliverance Temple, located at 816 Claiborne Street, Danville, Va. Bishop, C.E. Bridgeforth, of Kingdom Worship Center, officiating. Bishop, David L. McLaughlin will deliver the Eulogy. Interment will follow at Highland Burial Park, Danville, Va. Visitation will be held one hour prior to funeral services, at other times the family will receive guests at 338 Wrenn Drive, Danville, Va. Repass will take place at Greater Deliverance Temple following interment. D.L. McLaughlin Funeral Home of Washington, D.C. is in charge of arrangements.
