Kathy Marie Bayes, 60, of 178 Sugar Tree Lane, Cascade, Va., left this world and danced into Heaven on Wednesday, November 21, 2018, leaving her loving family behind. Kathy was born in Newport News, Va., on October 13, 1958, daughter of the late Boyd C. Heffinger Sr. and Barbara Canp Heffinger who survives of Danville. She spent most of her life in the Danville area where she was a lab technician for SOVAH Internal Medicine until her retirement. She was a member of Mt. Calvary Pentecostal Church. Kathy was known for her devotion to helping others whether it was in the medical field or volunteering; she would do all she could to lend a helping hand. In addition to her mother, Kathy is survived by her loving husband, Clayton E. Bayes of the residence; son, Justin Bayes of Cascade, Va.; daughter, Amanda Bayes of Cascade, Va.; twin sister, Karen Craddock and husband, Alan, of Danville, Va.; brother, Allen Wayne Heffinger and wife, Billie, of Danville, Va.; grandchildren, Jordan Haley Bayes and Elena Isabel Castaneda; she also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends who will miss her dearly. She was predeceased by a brother, Boyd C. Heffinger Jr. Funeral services will be conducted on Sunday, November 25, 2018, at 2 p.m. at Wrenn-Yeatts Westover Chapel with Pastor Kenny Gunn officiating. Interment will follow in Danville Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 12:30 until 1:45 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home and at other times, they will be at the residence, 178 Sugar Tree Lane, Cascade, VA 24069.
