Georganne Loudamy Obituary

Georganne Loudamy, age 57, of Austin, Texas, joined the angels in heaven on Tuesday, Jan. 12, 2010. Georganne, or "Doo" as her grandsons and their friends called her, fought a long and courageous battle with diabetes and its complications. She was born on Dec. 2, 1952 in Sanderson, Texas, the daughter of Lawrence and Thelma Janes. Georganne was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother and a dear friend to many. Always supportive of her husband's career with Johnson and Johnson, she relished the opportunities and adventures associated with living in San Angelo, Texas, Chicago, Palo Alto, Calif., and Yardley, Pa. All along the way, she made dear friends and wonderful memories. And she eagerly shared her home and her experiences with any who visited. She loved making memories, and she had a passion for sewing, cooking, quilting and oil painting. But none of that compared to her passion for being a special "Doo" to her two grandsons, Luke and Trip Nickel, and to their cousins and friends. While her heart was weak, it was big and capable of enveloping all who came near. She had an indomitable and cheerful spirit and despite illness and pain, always had a smile and a genuine interest in others. Georganne is survived by her husband, Gary Loudamy of Lakeway; her daughter, Aime Nickel and son-in-law Brian Nickel; loving grandsons, Luke and Trip Nickel, all of Lakeway; and her two sisters, Sharon McLauchlin of Ingram, Texas, and Janice Janes of Isante, Minn. She leaves behind many family and friends. Doo had a special place in her heart for Scott, Ava, and Mia McDonald, Jane, Ali and Ethan Bernick and Lauren Girvan. She loved them as though they were her own grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 16, 2010, at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home, 411 RR 620 in Lakeway, Texas. Thanks to the many health care professionals who assisted Georganne throughout the years. Special gratitude and appreciation is extended to Dr. Shobha Reddy and Dr. Eric Tiblier for their compassion and excellent care. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the American Diabetes Association. Arrangements by Weed-Corley-Fish Lake Travis, 411 Ranch Road 620 South, Austin, Texas 78734 (512) 263-1511. Obituary and guestbook available online at wcfish.com
