Harold Martin Obituary

KEERVILLE Harold Dean Martin,73, of Junction, Texas, died Wednesday, August 18, 2010, in a Kerrville hospital. He was born on June 22, 1937, in Mineral Wells, Texas, to Harold Dee Martin and Adelle Wilkinson Martin. He was the owner of Cherokee Bridge and Road LTD. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Junction and attended Trinity Baptist Church in Kerrville. "Pardner" loved his grandchildren. He enjoyed horseracing, hunting, fishing and golf. Building bridges and bidding highway jobs was his livelihood & passion. He loved serving the Lord and spent his time and money educating the youth and bringing them to the Lord. He was a Sunday school teacher and deacon of the church. Survivors include his wife, Dell Martin of Junction; mother Adelle Martin of Mineral Wells, Texas; daughters Melissa Hoggett (Jerry) of Junction and Jennifer Riley (Kelly) of Dallas; son Dean Martin Jr. (Belinda) of Junction; blood brother Jan Gambrell; sisters Elizabeth Ann Pearson (Rich of Leroy Ala. and Linda McDonell (Mac) of Mineral Wells; brother Jerry Martin (Christy)of Mineral Wells; grandchildren, Trady Martin, Samantha Larsen (Mike), Hannah Martin and Cecilia Rose Riley; special nieces & nephews, Charlie & Clay Alexander and Lindee Gartman; and numerous other nieces, nephews and lifelong friends. There will be a family visitation from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday, August 20 at Grimes Funeral Chapels. Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Saturday, August 21, at Trinity Baptist Church in Kerrville with Brother Morris Cook officiating. Interment will follow in Garden of Memories in Kerrville. Pallbearers will be Dave Ince, Dutch Wardlaw, Kelly Kothmann, Curt Kneese, Wesley Skains, Mark Kirkpatrick, Sterling Frymire and Eric Auld. Honorary pallbearers will be Harold Dean's "boys" the employees of Cherokee Bridge & Road and Rob Spiller, Lynn Hill Molesworth and his lifelong friends. Memorial remembrances may be made to Trinity Baptist Church, Attn: Children's Ministry. My Dearest Dell and Family,
We found out about Harold's passing today around 5pm, and are still trying to process the news. We wish with all our hearts we could be with you in your time of need, however we take great comfort in knowing that Stell is so blessed to have her beloved friend, HAROLD, with her again in the GLORY!!!!
