REGINALD EVANS Obituary
SAN ANGELO - Reginald Evans went to be with our Lord on Tuesday, Aug. 16, 2005. There, he will meet his grandparents Walter and Thelma Shields. Reggie Evans was born on Nov. 24, 1959, in San Angelo, Texas. He was the third son of James and Ora Evans. While growing up, he attended Sunday school and church at Alexander Temple. He was baptized at a very early age in Sherman, Texas, at the Progressive Baptist Church. Reggie attended Headstart in Sherman, where he began drawing and painting pictures of athletes. Sports were his greatest interest. After moving to San Angelo, he attended Reagan Elementary School, Edison Junior High School and San Angelo Central High School, where he graduated. He and his brothers were active in the YMCA, Little League Baseball and Bunyard Shorts. A collection of trophies from baseball and citywide basketball are displayed on his dresser and football posters line the walls. Reggie made many friends throughout the years. He was very friendly and outgoing, fun to talk to and he loved to tell jokes; just a swell fellow you would love to meet. He is survived by his parents, James and Ora; three brothers, Tony Evans and wife Jackie, Earl Evans and wife Eire, and Gregory Evans and Tabitha; Aunt Virginia and husband George Epps; and also four nieces, four nephews and a host of relatives and friends. Thanks so much for your tremendous support: the staff at Shannon Wound Care Center. Service will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 23, at San Angelo Greater IME Church, 104 E. 17th St. Burial will follow in Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens.

Dear Evans Family, I want to extend my deepest sympathy to all of you at this difficult time. I was shocked to hear of Reggie's death and I am saddened by the loss of such a great guy. I remember some really fun times with Reg and Greg in the Evans home listening to albums or just hanging out at the park. I will always remember Reggie for his sense of humor and infectious laugh. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you as you cope with Reggie's passing.

My heartfelt condolences to Mr. and Mrs Evans and family. It's hard to believe that another has taken his place in heaven. God chooses only the best and Reggie was one of the best. MLK Park will never be the same without always seeing Reggie around. I'll forever remember his kindness and all the fun we had playing baseball on 24th street. May God continue to bless you with courage, strength and faith.

My heartfelt condolences go out to the Evans' family with the passing of Reggie. Ater being contacted by my brother Freddy, it goes to say, this news was a dagger to my heart, as Reggie and I were nearly inseparable growing up in "our neighborhood". We played YMCA football, basketball, baseball, ran track (including the Little Olympics). My fondest memories were making football players out of writing paper, playing baseball in the open lot between the DeWitt's residence (on 22nd and 23rd) , going to Picnic Bend Swimming Pool and hanging out at school while going to Edison and Central. Reggie was a genuine man. He will be truly missed by ME. Carl "Squirt" Brainard Arvada, Colorado
