June Richie Obituary

June Richie was born in Breckenridge, Texas, on April 2, 1927, to parents Ona and Boyd Robinson. She died on Jan. 16, 2022, at the age of 94.June was lovingly known to family and friends as "June Honey".She and Gene Richie were married 33 years prior to his death. Together they raised three children and had interesting and sometimes hilarious adventures.She was a loving and dedicated mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was very active in her community, including being President of Wichita County Texas Democratic Women, President of Law Wives, and a den mother for the Cub Scouts. June was an Energy Consultant for the JAC Electric Co-op. She was heavily involved in her church and her community through outreach efforts including managing the Episcopal Thrift Shop for many years. She was a member of All Saints Episcopal Church.June was an excellent cook and her favorite books were cookbooks.She was an extremely kind, loving, resilient and giving person. The essence of June was her devotion to her family and her faith. She also proclaimed she was a womb to tomb Democrat and served as a Democratic precinct chair for many years.She was preceded in death by her first husband, L.C. Reed, Jr., a flight officer who was killed in World War II, her husband of 33 years, Gene Richie, her parents, Ona and Boyd Robinson, her stepmother, Irene Robinson, stepsister, stepbrother and several nieces and nephews.June is survived by her children Boyd Lynn Richie and wife Betty Richie, Alicia Hux and husband Harvey Hux, and Steve Richie as well as her grandchildren Tracy Bowles and husband Andy Bowles, Chris Richie and wife Julie Richie, and John Richie and wife Gina Richie and great-grandchildren Alexandria Bowles, Andrew Bowles, Boyd Thomas Richie, Paul Richie, Brady Richie, and Carter Richie.Memorials may be made to the Presbyterian Manor Good Samaritan or a charity of choice.Condolences may be sent to the family at www.lunnscolonial.com.
