James Ethridge Obituary

CASCADE - James L. Ethridge, 89, of Cascade, died of natural causes Sunday, Oct. 2, at his home.

Funeral service is 10:30 a.m. Thursday in the Rose Room at Croxford Funeral Home. Burial will take place in Hillside Cemetery with a reception following at the Senior Center in Cascade.

James was born May 8, 1922, to Melissa (DaVee) and Albert Ethridge in Bosque County, Texas. He was a veteran of WWII and also was enlisted in the Army Air Corp., U.S. Air Force, and Air National Guard. He also worked for Phillips Refinery and later became a rural letter carrier.

On Dec. 26, 1945, he married Doris Elaine Poirier in Great Falls. They were married for 66 years.

At one time, James was the editor of the Great Falls Bowling News. He enjoyed living in Cascade, and he also enjoyed fishing.

He is survived by his wife; sons Joel, Neal (Betsie), and Brent (Jennifer); daughters Melissa (Don) Kerr, and Ramona (Marty) Rosin; two sisters and three brothers, all of Texas; 16 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents; son Randy; and brother Rudy.

Memorials and donations may be made to Cascade Public Library; Cascade Senior Citizens Center; or Benefis Peace Hospice Residence Center.
