Jim Gladstone Obituary
Jim Gladstone passed away at home on the Blood Reserve on Saturday, May 16, 2015 at the age of 72 years.
Jim's death was preceded by his parents, Fred and Edith Gladstone, June Wilms (sister), and son, Jace Gladstone. He is survived by his younger sister, J. Caen Bly; brother, Jeff Gladstone; and his 6 children: Stacey Schmidt (Greg Riley); Quincey Atkin (Troy Atkin); Chad Gladstone (Kim Gladstone); Skye Carroll (Martin Carroll); Lincoln Gladstone and Zak Gladstone; and 12 grandchildren, Trentin & Trey Atkin; Ashton & Tennison Schmidt; Madi, Miles, Chase & Callay Gladstone; and Solia, Atalya, Steele & Azure Carroll.
A Cowboy's Celebration will be held at the Ranchman's in Calgary, AB on Friday, May 22 from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The Funeral Service will be held at the CARDSTON AGRIDOME, Cardston, Alberta on Saturday, May 23 at 12:00 noon.
Friends may meet the Family at the LEGACY FUNERAL HOME, 107- 6 Street West, on Saturday, May 23 from 10:00 to 11:30 a.m.

I had the honor of working with Mr. Gladstone early on in my career defending Canadas First Nations. There were times when I thought we were both going to get kicked out of the back room of the courthouse for laughing so hard. Inside the court when Jim was at the bar, it was all business and he was somebody that I learned from and I will always be grateful for that. May God bring comfort and strength to his family especially in the days ahead.

Jimmy would always go out of his way to come say hi no matter who was around ! Always a friendly hand shake big smile and friendly conversation ! Great roping instructed my brother Dave and I learned a lot from Jim and his Big Blk Gelding ! Farewell My Friend and we'll see you one day in the big Arena Above !! God Bless Say Hi to Johnny Sr

Sorry to hear of your loss. I went to Olds Ag School with Jim in 1965. Great Guy. Remained friends over the years since.

I had the priviledge of knowing Mr. Gladstone as a Court Clerk in Siksika. I enjoyed his company and was a wonderful man.
